This past week has been exciting for me! I was interviewed on the Life Coaching Secrets Podcast, and I’m getting ready to launch my very own podcast, Relating with Jen Funk: Getting Honest About the Relationships that Matter Most! And through it all, my husband, KC, has been my biggest supporter. He’s celebrated with me, asked about my progress, offered to brainstorm ideas and shared the podcast episode with people I don’t even know! 😂 His support reminds me how powerful it is to have someone in your corner cheering you on… and how easy it is to overlook this simple act in our closest relationships. Because when something matters to the people we love, it’s worth celebrating… even if it wouldn’t matter to us. Maybe your partner hits a milestone at work that you don’t fully understand.
Or your child is excited about something that seems small to you.
Or your best friend shares a win you might not have even noticed. In these moments, we have a choice: To ignore it or brush past it with a quick “Congrats”, OR actually pause and take a minute to celebrate. As I have grown my coaching business, taken on new clients, published newsletters and now the upcoming podcast, there has been no greater feeling than hearing from friends and family who have taken a minute to share that they are proud of me, or that they loved my newsletter, or they are excited to listen to my podcast. With every spoken word, text or email I have received, my connection to that person has deepened. Because they aren’t just communicating that they liked my newsletter… they are communicating that they care. So I am going to encourage you to do that also… PAUSE to CELEBRATE the wins of those you love. Even a few simple words like “I’m so proud of you!” or “I can tell this means a lot to you” can deepen connection in powerful ways. Support doesn’t have to be grand gestures. It’s simply about paying attention and acknowledging what matters to the other person. This week, try this:➡️ Ask one follow-up question when someone you love shares a win: “What does this mean to you?” or “What could this change for you?” ➡️ Celebrate in their love language. Write a note, plan a little toast at dinner, give them a hug, or simply tell them how proud you are. ➡️ Notice even the “small” things. Sometimes it’s the everyday victories - getting through a stressful day (without killing anyone!) or a project finished on time - that mean the most when someone sees them. These little moments send a big message: “What matters to you matters to me, because you matter to me.” That’s how trust grows. That’s how relationships deepen. And speaking of celebrating… I’m excited to share two fun pieces of news! 🎉 1️⃣ I was a guest on the Life Coaching Secrets Podcast!
